JPG has no transparency, so a transparent background is saved as white. Choose PNG or WebP to keep it transparent.

Only documents whose rules allow a digitally produced plain background are listed. The photo opens in the photo tool, which crops and checks it.
Not offered for AU citizenship, AU passport, AU visa, Ochre Card NT, RWVP Tasmania, WWC Check VIC, WWC Check WA, Canada visa IRCC and others: their rules prohibit editing or replacing the background, so retake against a plain wall instead.
It runs the object model (U²-Netp), cuts the product out, and places it centred on a pure white (RGB 255, 255, 255) square. The Subject fills slider scales the product's bounding box to a share of the square's longer side, 85% by default, and the size field sets the square in pixels: 2,000 by default, a common recommendation because marketplaces use large images for zoom. Turn on Drop shadow for a soft shadow that stops the product looking pasted on. Download as JPG for listings (smaller, and white needs no transparency) or PNG if you will edit it further.
Shooting the product so the cut-out is clean
Photograph on a plain surface that contrasts with the product: a white sheet for dark items, a grey or coloured card for white items.
Use soft, even light from a window or two lamps either side. Hard light makes hard shadows, which the model may keep.
Fill the camera frame with the product and keep it sharp; the tool does the framing afterwards.
For shiny items, angle the light so reflections do not merge into the background.
Marketplace rules to check
As commonly reported, Amazon's main image should be pure white (RGB 255, 255, 255), with the product filling about 85% of the frame and no text, props or watermarks. eBay asks for at least 500 pixels on the longest side, recommends about 1,600 and says white is generally best. Etsy and Shopify themes have their own preferred aspect ratios. These rules change and some could not be confirmed on the marketplaces' own pages, so check the seller help for your marketplace before a big batch. The full guide covers the details.
Doing a whole catalogue
HD & batch takes up to 50 photos at once: drop them in, and each is processed with the same settings and listed in the queue. Click any one to touch up its edge with the brush, then download them all as a ZIP. Everything stays on your computer, which also means it is as fast as your machine, not a server queue.
Frequently asked questions
Is the white exactly RGB 255, 255, 255?
Yes. The colour background is filled with the value you choose; the white preset is RGB 255, 255, 255.
What size should a product photo be?
Marketplaces vary. 2,000 × 2,000 px is a common recommendation so zoom works; the free tier exports up to 1,000 px, and HD exports the size you set.
Can I keep a shadow?
Tick Drop shadow for a soft, consistent shadow under the cut-out.
Can I process many products at once?
With HD & batch, up to 50 images per batch, downloaded as a ZIP.
Will the product be centred?
Yes. The square framing centres the product's bounding box and scales it to the fill percentage.
Does Amazon accept this?
The output follows the commonly reported main-image rules (pure white, product about 85% of the frame), but check Amazon's current Seller Central requirements.
