PDF tools

Every tool runs in your browser: files are read into the page's memory, processed by open-source libraries in a background worker, and handed back as downloads. Free for files up to 50 MB, five at a time; PDF Pro removes the limits.

What these tools do not do

PDF to Word or Excel, OCR, form filling and PDF/A conversion are deliberately out of scope. They cannot be done well entirely in a browser with permissively licensed software, and a half-working version would waste your time. The questions below explain each.

Why we don't do this

Why is there no PDF to Word or Excel?

Converting a PDF back into an editable document means reconstructing paragraphs, tables and styles from positioned text. The good converters are large commercial engines or server software. A browser-only version would produce poor results, so it is not offered rather than offered badly.

Why no OCR (making scans searchable)?

OCR needs a large recognition model per language and is slow in a browser. Your phone's scanner app or your PDF reader probably does it on your device already.

Why no form filling?

Your browser's built-in PDF viewer fills most PDF forms and saves them. For a visual signature on a form, use Sign PDF.

Why no PDF/A conversion?

PDF/A archives need font embedding, colour profiles and validation that cannot be done reliably in a browser. Use your PDF software's export option if an archive requires PDF/A.

Is anything uploaded?

No. Every tool here runs in your browser; the files stay on your device and the tools keep working offline after the first visit.

What does PDF Pro add?

No file-size limit (with a warning above 200 MB), batches up to 100 files, saved settings per tool, and a verification report for redactions. It is a one-off lifetime licence.
