UWA campus card photo photo requirements

The University of Western Australia issues new students a campus card. Photos are submitted online through UWA's CaptureMe service, together with a copy of photo ID. UWA's page does not publish a pixel size or framing rules beyond what CaptureMe asks for. This preset crops to a conventional 3:4 head-and-shoulders portrait on a plain light background, gives framing tips rather than pass or fail, and exports a JPEG and a PNG.

Can I take it myself? Yes

Yes. UWA asks you to send a photo through CaptureMe. Take it yourself (or have someone take it) against a plain light wall, then upload it with your photo ID as CaptureMe directs.

How to take the photo

  1. Open UWA's campus card page and follow the CaptureMe link.
  2. Take a head-and-shoulders photo against a plain light wall in soft light.
  3. Look at the camera with your face uncovered; remove hats and sunglasses.
  4. Load it here and export the JPEG.
  5. Upload it to CaptureMe with the copy of your photo ID that UWA asks for.

Why UWA campus card photos get rejected

  1. Photo too dark or backlit. Face a window; avoid bright light behind you.
  2. Not just head and shoulders. The tool crops to head and shoulders.
  3. Sunglasses or a cap. Remove them; clear glasses are usually fine.
  4. Busy background. Use a plain light wall.
  5. Blurred. Hold still, tap to focus, use the rear camera.

Infants and children

Not applicable: student cards are issued to enrolled students, not infants. For a baby passport photo see the baby passport pages.

What it costs

UWA's campus card photo upload is free as far as we know. The Single licence (A$6.99) gives the clean files.
