Camera tips before you shoot
  • Someone else holds the phone about 1.5 m away at your head height. No selfies at arm's length.
  • Daylight from a window in front of you; no flash, no overhead-only light.
  • Plain light wall, half a metre behind you, no shadow on it.
  • Shoulders in frame, space above the head; the tool crops.
  • Use the original file, not a screenshot or a messaging-app copy.

People

More than one person needs the Pass (up to 6). Names stay in memory only.

Official source DFA – Passport appointment system

Check the official source. Some values on this page could not be confirmed from the official page when it was last checked (2026-10-28).

    • The DFA appointment site could not be fetched. DFA consular offices capture the photo on site during the appointment, so no applicant-supplied photo is needed; this page is information only.
    • Information only. No paid product, because the DFA captures the photo on site.

Can I take it myself? No

No. The DFA does not accept applicant-supplied photos for the passport itself; the data-capture station takes the image. We do not sell a Philippine product. This page tells you how to turn up so the captured photo is not rejected and the appointment does not have to be rebooked, and the free checker can be used on a photo of yourself to practise the pose.

Why PH passport photos get rejected

    1. Glasses or coloured contact lenses. Remove them before the capture.
    2. White or sleeveless top. Wear a coloured top with sleeves or a collar.
    3. Hair over the face or ears. Tie it back.
    4. Headwear. Remove unless worn for religious reasons, and then show the whole face.
    5. Smiling or eyes partly closed. Hold a neutral expression; the operator will retake.

    PH passport photo FAQ

Do I need to bring passport photos to the DFA?

No. Your photo is captured at the appointment.

    What should I wear?

A coloured top with sleeves or a collar. Avoid white, sleeveless tops and large logos; the backdrop is white.

    Can I wear glasses?

No. Glasses and coloured contact lenses are removed for the capture.

Why is there no product here?

Because the DFA does not accept supplied photos; there is nothing to make.

Do Philippine embassies abroad also capture the photo?

Yes. Embassies and consulates use the same data-capture process at the appointment.

What about visa photos for the Philippines?

Visa applications for the Philippines made abroad do take printed photos; check the embassy's specification, often 35×45 mm or 2×2 inches.
