Team page headshot photo requirements

Team pages look professional when every headshot matches: the same crop, the same head size, the same background and similar light. That is hard when photos come from different phones on different days. This tool crops each photo to the same 4:5 portrait shape with the head at the same size, gives framing tips rather than pass or fail, and exports matching PNG or JPEG files ready for a website or intranet.

Can I take it myself? Yes

Yes. No authority sets rules for a profile or CV photo, so anything that looks like you, is sharp and is well framed will do. A photo someone else takes from a couple of metres, at eye level, in soft window light, looks far better than an arm's-length selfie. The tool here gives framing tips rather than pass or fail, and exports the sizes each use expects.

How to take the photo

  1. Agree the background (a plain light wall, or a solid colour applied with the background option) and tell everyone in advance.
  2. Photograph each person in the same spot, at the same distance and height, facing the same window.
  3. Keep head and shoulders in frame, slightly turned body, face to camera, natural expression.
  4. Load each photo here; the head-size control keeps faces the same size across the team.
  5. Export the 800×1000 files and name them consistently for the website.

Why Team headshot photos get rejected

  1. Face too small in a circular crop. Use the head-size control; aim for the head to fill about 60 per cent of the frame.
  2. Busy background competes with the face. Stand in front of a plain wall or use the background option.
  3. Harsh shadows. Face a window; avoid overhead light.
  4. Low resolution on high-DPI screens. Export the 800 px version and let the platform downscale.
  5. Cropped through the top of the head. Leave a little space above the hair; the tool's crown allowance does this.

Infants and children

Not applicable to professional headshots. For a baby's passport photo, use the baby passport pages, which apply each country's infant rules.

What it costs

The Pass (A$12.99, 7 days, six people) suits a small team; the Single (A$6.99) covers one person's headshot in every format.

Team headshot photo FAQ

What aspect ratio do team photos use?

There is no standard; 4:5 portrait and 1:1 square are both common. Pick one and use it for everyone.

How do I make different photos match?

Same background, same light, same crop. The tool's head-size control sets every face to the same size.

Can I add a coloured background?

Yes, for headshots the background option is available.

Do I need a professional photographer?

Not for a consistent result: a good phone, a window and a plain wall go a long way.

Can several people use one licence?

The Pass covers up to six people for seven days.

Are these checked against official rules?

No. Headshots have no rules; the tool gives framing tips.
