Queensland blue card photo

A Queensland blue card uses the photo held on your Department of Transport and Main Roads record, the same one on a Queensland driver's licence. Before you apply you need a TMR customer reference number (CRN) and a current TMR photo. You do not upload a photo with the blue card application. People outside Queensland can get a CRN and photo through TMR's remote application forms.

Check the official source. Process reported from the qld.gov.au apply page and TMR how-to guides by web search on 2026-10-29: applicants need a TMR customer reference number (CRN) and a TMR photo before applying; photos older than 6 years 11 months must be updated at TMR. The pages were not re-opened.

How it works

  1. If you hold a Queensland driver's licence or photo ID card, you already have a CRN and photo; check the photo is less than 6 years 11 months old.
  2. If not, visit a TMR customer service centre with identity documents to get a CRN and have your photo taken (free when it is only to update the photo).
  3. If you live interstate, overseas or remotely, use TMR form F5342 (new customer) or F5399 (existing customer needing a new photo); the photo must meet TMR's digital photo requirements printed on the form.
  4. Apply for the blue card online with your CRN; the card is printed with your TMR photo.

Why this site has no tool for it

This site only makes photos for documents that accept a photo you supply. Here the photo is taken from the agency's record, so a file or print you bring is not used, and selling one would be misleading. For documents that do take your own photo, such as passports, many visas and some working with children checks, use the ID photo hub or the photo maker.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to supply a photo?

Not for this check: the photo is captured by the agency or taken from its existing record. Follow the agency's instructions rather than preparing a print.

Which states accept an uploaded WWC photo?

Victoria (online, JPEG, at least 406×521 px), the Northern Territory Ochre Card (JPG upload or printed photo) and Tasmanian RWVP applicants applying from interstate or overseas (certified passport-standard photo). Each has its own page on this site.

Is a check from one state valid in another?

Generally no: working with children checks are issued by each state and territory under its own law. The NDIS Worker Screening Check is the main nationally recognised exception, and it is a different check.

How long does the check take?

It varies by state and by applicant. Lodge early and check the agency's current processing times.
