Aadhaar photo update photo
The photo on your Aadhaar is part of your biometric record held by UIDAI. It cannot be replaced by uploading a picture online: a photo update is a biometric update done in person at an Aadhaar enrolment or update centre, where an operator captures a new photo with the centre's camera. That is why this site offers no Aadhaar photo preset.
- Photo
- Captured at an enrolment centre
- Bring a photo?
- No
Check the official source. That an Aadhaar photo can only be updated by biometric capture at an enrolment centre (not by upload) is UIDAI's long-standing rule but was not re-confirmed on uidai.gov.in on 2026-10-29. The update fee was not confirmed.
How it works
- Book an appointment for a biometric update at an Aadhaar Seva Kendra or authorised enrolment centre (or walk in where allowed).
- Bring your Aadhaar number; no supporting document is usually needed for a photo update.
- The operator captures your photo (and other biometrics if they are being updated) and gives you an update request number.
- Download the updated e-Aadhaar once the update is processed.
About the photo
- You cannot upload your own photo for Aadhaar.
- For PAN, passport, OCI and exam applications that do take an uploaded photo, see the India pages on this site.
Fees
The biometric update fee was not confirmed on 2026-10-29; check UIDAI.

Why this site has no tool for it
This site only makes photos for documents that accept a photo you supply. Here the photo is captured at an enrolment centre, so a file or print you bring is not used, and selling one would be misleading. For documents that do take your own photo, such as passports, many visas and some working with children checks, use the ID photo hub or the photo maker.
Frequently asked questions
Can I change my Aadhaar photo online?
No. A photo change is a biometric update and has to be captured at an enrolment or update centre.
Do I bring a passport photo?
No. The centre captures the photo with its own camera.
How long does the update take?
Processing times vary; track the request with your update request number.
Which Indian documents take an uploaded photo?
Passport (Passport Seva), OCI, the Indian e-Visa, PAN applications and many exam portals. Each has a page on this site.
